Store bought press on nails with uv gel over them?

idk i just thought of it because i dont want to buy any expensive stuff on the at home extension kit. so if you put on press on nails from like walgreens or something with like a french manicure already on them and then brushed on the gel would it look ok? i feel like it would look and feel nicer. would that work? and if it would what are good press on nails? thanks
