The best way to keep strong nails?

Hey guys! So I work every weekend in a kitchen where I wash dishes. Sometimes for 2 hours straight. I'm not allowed to wear polish. Anyways whenever I get home i want to paint my nails because i won't have work again for a week so it's the perfect time to get a good amount of time out of the manicure! Know what I mean? Anyway whenever I get back from work my nails are in terrible condition bc of all the water. Just wondering if there are any products I should apply before I go to work to keep them strong
