Is melon ok for cats?

My cat juat sprang on the kitchen table and ate a piece of melon. It was as big as his mouth and he did not chew it. Im not so scared of it poisoning my cat but can he pass the piece in his stool even though he didnt chew it and it was big? I hope it will not make him vomit it could choke him.
